I'll tell you I don't no how old the tank is bUt any used tank is very easy to re silicone as I just did with my 55 that tank is empty mine wasn't ,,GE silicone 1 is the way to go 5$; as far as splitting up the filters I can't c y not call 3478163920 ask for al ; he is a member and ask him🐙🐠🐳🐋

just keep in mind when resealing, new silicone does not hold to old dry silicone, so remove all old material

That what I did ; to remove old silicone I have a razor that's used to remove old inspection stickers; from there I used a hair dryer to dry out any water then gave 1 bead tooled with my finger . After 24 hrs I put a second bead waited 24 hrs and Alah so far so good no leaks .if anyone has a leaky tank I will service for them for a nominal fee with a 90 day warennty🐠🐠🐳🐳🐟🐋

They usually do not recommend putting a second bead
Like I said silicone does not hold long term to dry silicone.

If it does not leak it is probably because the first bead did the trick, not the second

It is not easy to repair large tanks. There can not be any old silicone left. Silicone does not hold to silicone
You may get away with this on small tanks not on large tanks.
there is only one right way to properly repair a tank
that is to remove the glass pane completly to silicone
too much work

Not only is it too much work I also lost fish in the process that in its self is not good😤😤
