As I find myself having to answer questions about freshwater fish diseases almost daily, either at meetings or online, I would like to suggest The Chart On Fish Diseases as the most comprehensive and well organized reference online in my opinion. It's well worth bookmarking or making a copy of.

It a big long chart of symptoms, causes and treatments and contains virtually all reasonably common fresh water (and some marine) fish illnesses. It's part of their bigger website, but you can go right to it by entering "Chart on Fish Diseases." It's extremely easy for novices to understand, so I often recommend it on Yahoo. It's one of the few sites that gives you a thumbnail sketch of each illness, so you don't constantly have to change windows. It's one of about 40 entries I keep on my favorites list for answering Yahoo Questions with good references.
