My female Gold Fader Flowerhorn (the one who is the subject of my current Aquatica article on hybrid cichlids) recently had a spat wit the Red Dragon male who refused to mate with her. She spit gravel at him, dropped a clamshell on his tail, and lacerated his pectoral and tail fins. Now she is throwing gravel and small rocks at him when he comes close to the divider. She is less than half his size, but is much faster and a better biter. She is apparently also much smarter, as she uses tools and he doesn't.
