Planted Fresh water aquarium

Hi there

i am a salt water aquarium keeper that would like to try a fresh water planted aquarium. I want a small tank, ten gallon the most. I been reading a little about and it looks like the easiest plants are Java Moss, anubias, java vern, jungle val. What i would like to know from people that have planted aquarium is, which substrate, and which rocks i should use and where do i get them. I am a BAS member, and always see tons of plants at the auction but i never paid much attention to them. Are the plants i mentioned above up for grabs regularly? as for fish i have another list of small fish i'l ike to keep together with some shrimps.
Thank you

rock are which ever you like, as far as substrate I like eco complete.
most shrimps are pretty small and don't mix with fish.
maybe small like neons or cardinals

Go to the beach, i stay away from red rocks [i don't remember why ,iron?} pick out what interests you. If it looks solid, good .Still not sure? Put it in a tub with some feeders,if they live you're good .:bow2:, what small fish are you thinking?
