As I mentioned at the dinner yesterday. I have a soil and sand substrate. I regular add potassium to the water at least twice a week and prune plants that hit the surface. This has given me great root structure. Major grower of Cabomba and Amazon Swords.
Just started using root caps I got from aa guy online. Still testing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/330808632434...84.m1497.l2649 |

lawn dirt
The issue with lawn soil is the stray stuff found in it thst you don't expect. Pollutants, fertilizer etc.
|
I did find an old cigarette filter , but this is only going to b for plants so I think it will do the trick😝😝😜
|
Well I set up my 5.5 gal tank dual substrate ; sand and dirt valesiniria some kind of bushy sword ah a cardinal plant , dwarf baby tears and a spider plant which I had in my 3 gal and it sported roots just floating ;now the question is do I put a filter ; heater airstone I have a dual light full hood over it ?? No fish goin in tank 😳😳 oh and a small java fern😍😍😀😀
|
My trick is to place the heater under the filter to keep the tank evenly heated. Keep lighting on the light side as that tank is pretty small. Good experiment

Thank you 😍😍
