Aquarium BackUp Systems

I light of storms and power failures has anyone set up emergency plans for their aquariums? At the very least there should be battery powered pumps on hands case of power outage.

What do you use?

I have battery operated pumps, and inverter with 2 car batteries that I top off every 6 months, few computer battery backups and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide just in case.

In winter one should also have some blankets and in the summer few bags of ice handy.

What's the peroxide for? I have been seriously investigating a solar panel driven system which would keep the batteries charged

For adding oxygen if poor circulation and fish gasping or hanging at the top.

Few drops here and there is all that's needed in my large tank.

Interesting. I definitely just learned something
