My Sick Bala Shark

Quick Question...... I have a 55 gallon tank, unfortunately I do not have a hospital tank. My Bala Shark looks like it came down with Septecimia. I am treating the tank with Melafix and pimafix concurrently. I have been doing this for 3 days so far. The Bala looks like it is improving. The instructions on both bottles say after 7 days of treatment do a 20% water change. My question is, would it be wise to do a water change sooner then the 7 day treatment????

I think by doing the water change you will be removing the medication, If you are going to do it, do it after 24 hours because that med disapate after 24 hours. Then medicate again. Make sure to remove all carbon as carbon removes the medication. Keep the water changes small, as not to stress the fish anymore.

Thanks SteveM, I was thinking the same thing. I just wanted to hear it from someone else!!!!!! Thanks again for your help. I think I am going to just stay with the treatment, and do as the directions say, and do the water change after the 7th day. Up until now I have been doing water changes quite regularly, ( 2x a week) so I guess I can go for a 7 day stretch for now. Thanks again for your input
