Since Hurricane Sandy, when my female breeder lost her mate, I have been a grooming a replacement mate for her. She is a Leucistic King Kamfa (7") and the new King Kamfa male, who she rejected at the end of November, is now 8.5 inches with a plum-sized hump. I was going to wait to Valentine's Day to reintroduce them, but the temperature warmed up so I put them together in a 50 gallon tank Sunday. After sniffing each other out for about half an hour, they embarked on a two day dance marathon with moves Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers never thought of. Head to Head, Tail to Tail, Side by Side, Do-si-Do, Tail Wagging and body Shimmying for 2 days straight. They started nesting digging Monday afternoon. Tonight they were too tired to go up and eat their food, so they waited for it to sink. Hopefully there will be a few hundred top quality fry in a month or two.
