Default salinity

It is possable to keep some saltwater fish at 1.014, I did not think africans are kept that high.
The local pet store sometime keep fish that low to save money and lessen the chance of getting parasites, but that is not long term. For the health of the fish I would not go that low.
Sometime your lps also lower it to get rid of ick, as it speeds up their life cycle. if the salinity is too low it will effect your fish, i have seen it with my customers. It seems to irratate their gills
