Cichlid Profiles- Big Eye Cichlid
Acaronia nassa is quite similar to A. vultuosa except that it has very different gill rakers and a round spot rather than a stripe below the eye. It is a common fish of the Amazon, Rio Negro and the Guyanas. It is a bottom dweller found in close association with Festivum and Angelfish. It likes 78-82 degree water and pH of 7 to slightly alkaline. It gets 6 inches long.
