You have to take it easy with vinyl and apply from one side. Pull the liner as you go squeeging back and forth with a credit card or something similar. I get mine on perfectly.
Alternatively you can mix a solution of water and dishwashing soap (about a drop to a quart) and spray that on the glass. Apply vinyl and "massage" the water from under the vinyl. This allowes vinyl to be repositioned and any trapped air to escape before the aghesive sets.
