Follow up on the popeye;; I isolated the fish and treated with melafix for 5 days ; I also added some salt . Friday I did a partial water change and today Saturday the fish is looking for food which is a sign of recovery👍👍🐠😎

popeye
one of the most important thing on the road to recovery is to get the fish to eat.
they have to keep their strenght up, just as we do when sick |

Many Causes of Pop-Eye
Pop-Eye is a symptom not a disease, and it can be very frustrating to determine what causes it. The culprit can be anything from bad water chemistry, dirty water, bacterial septicemia, vibrio, Hemamita or hole-in-the-head, eye flukes and fish TB. I recently lost lost a Flowerhorn from unilateral pop-peye in 9 days. I used tetracycline, prazi-pro, flagyl and clout and it died anyhow. It's mate is fine. I'm suspicious it had advanced Hexamita or TB. Kanamycin is about the only thing that knocks out fish TB.

Melafix?
Read Do Melafix and Pimafix Work @ Simply Discus. They don't work for anybody. The salt may have worked. Melaleuca has many harmful side effects as well.
