March Madness- Flowerhorns Practicing
Dating is over. The Flowerhorns have gone into their "practicing phase." As of this week the female is sitting on the bottom of the nest, looking pretty pooped, but she occasionally smooths out the gravel. The male has been practicing his fertilzation, making slow passes over the 9 x 5 inch flat breeding rock and shivering while he rubs against it.

Minimum Size Tank For A Pair of Flowerhorns
Virtually all paired Flowerhorns need a 40 to 55 gallon tank to breed. You can keep a single one in a 30. There are "Bantam Flowerhorns" which are considerably smaller than the other breeds, and might be able to breed in a 30.
