![]() I've tried growing the various crypt species with no success. Anyone familiar with this plants growth requirements? Any tricks to prevent melting.

![]() Most important is cool water 72 - 77 degrees F., neutral pH (roughly), 2-3 inches of substrate enables its long roots to grow. Low light conditions is fine, but remember they are slow growing plants. Once planted and growing, don't move them because it takes a while for them to re-acclimate even in the same aquarium.
Cichlids enjoy moving them around the tank so keep them away from any plants. Hope this helps. Joe |

![]() Thanks for the info. What about planting them in pots? Maybe that'll work out better?
