![]() I always thought live sand had to be sealed to stay live. I recently spoke to Betsey Moore owner of Carib Sea, and was told if u open a bag and do not use al of it as long as u seal it and it stays wet it will be fine. If it does dry out it can still be used it just is not live anymore.

![]() It depends most often it's micro bacteria it you will accumulate different organisms over times some good and bad depends on how carefully you are they help with the waste removal and stuff like that
