Default Cichlid Profiles - Round Bellied Cichlid

The most recently named Amphilophus from Lake Apoyo is globosus, discovered in 2010 ( there are still several more Midas derivatives as yet unnamed). It is yellow-beige with large black midline blotches, either one about 3/4 of the way down towards the tail and one on the caudal peduncle, or with 5 more, 2 anterior to the large one and 3 filling in the space to the peduncular blotch. It is tapered at the sbout and at the peduncle, and roughly oval in shape, making it widest as the belly. It gets at least 7 inches long. Much more work needs to be done for an accurate profile, althoufgh one can assume it lives at pH around 7 and temperature in the low 80's. See "Images of Amphilophus globosus" for pictures.
