I had never seen them before installing tanks in a school with Joe but was impressed with the AquaClear Power Filters we installed
They were easy to set up and all you had to do to prime them was to fill the box with water and start the motor
They came with a bottom sponge, a bag of charcoal, and ceramic noodles
They look like they would be easy to service
Can't tell you how well they clean the water although the tetra and cichlid tanks looked clean, had no smell and, according to my expired dip sticks, were mostly within normal limits
I am not sure there is going to be much to help the turtle tank but constant water changes and some sort of internal filter to help out the HOB
