Default Saving your Tank...

Thought I'd start a forum on what you can do to protect your tanks and yourself in case of emergencies.
I'll create a link to various videos soon

Lets talk equipment. What measure do you have in place to keep your tank running.
Pumps
UPS
Heat...?

everyone that has tank should have some sort of battery back up pumps and batteries
a generator is great also
but when pumps shut down for ant lenght of time clean out your filters asap
try to keep the tanks warm by wraping in a blanket and keeping the covers shut
do not feed your fish
they will be fine skippind a few meals
do water changes during will help
adjusting the temp

Amazingly enough the ph went right back to where it was before the outage once the Temp went up. One Torch Coral is on the fence but other than that I am very pleased with the live bait pump from Bass Pro. It ran for three days on two D batteries. A smaller quieter pump ran for about a day on two AA batteries. It was much more quiet than the larger. Now I need some way of heating when power goes out.
