![]() Which of the various forms of bulk carbon is most effective at adsorbing aquarium waste?
I have seen it said that burned bone is best because it is porous so has more surface area on which things can stick and I would imagine the same claim is made for burned. Coconut shells. If this is true then it would seem that crushed coal would be less effective.

![]() I've always used activated carbon except recently. More water changes and less filtration.
