Microctenopoma angorgii
Can any one tell me who donated the Microctenopoma ansorgii at the May auction? I won both of them, which are both males. If they came from someplace local I'd really like to pick up some more, especially some females.

I don't know who donated the 2 fish you purchased, but M. ansorgii is readily available in the hobby from a number of sources. They are currently available on Aquabid.com and can be ordered through most of our Tropical Fish Retail Store sponsors (Brooklyn Zoo is one that I have dealt with). When you order the fish specifically request Females. If this doesn't work use the old breeders trick, Buy 6 to 12 unsexed Juveniles and you will get a good mix of sexes that way. I have seen these fish at the wholesalers a number of times and have raised them myself a few years back, so I know they are available. You have to specifically ask for Females with many species, because normally they are not as colorful as the males, so most people don't want them unless they are breeding them.
