I love the Aqua medic turboflotors 1000, they run anywhere from $200. to $300. dollars
They have an in sump model or a multi which can be used in sump or hang on.
I also have used and like the Aqua C skimmers
Both pretty easy to use and maintain.

I've had great success with Turboflotor 1000 Multi. First I had it hanging on the side of the tank but the scum that collects in the cup once went over the top and spilled on the floor. I moved it into the refugium and since then I haven't had any problems. Great skimmer and pulls a lot of gunk on daily bases.

you shouldn't cheap out of the skimmer. It's very important to buy the best skimmer you can afford keeping it mind that it fits under your tank. Some larger skimmers will not fit in the sump or under the tank and might have to be plumbed in separately.

Default skimmer

I have tryed the cheaper skimmer, ( those $69.00 Special)and in the long run it cost you alot more.
They just don't work that well, and they need constant adjustments.
I have went through 3 cheap ones, what a waste.
Spend the money on a better one, and you will not be sorry.
