skimmer
I hooked up a reef octopus 1000 hob skimmer. not a bad skimmer as hob goes.
I have hooked about 6 different hang on the bag skimmers, they r just not as good as a good in sump in my opinion. it is well made , takes about a week to break in. Easy to setup, although the instructions are pretty bad. there are some videos on line to help |

I've used many brands of skimmers from high end to low end. You will always do better with the in sump version. Hang ons will all eventually run water onto the floor. They all over flow at the cup one time or another.

yes the chance of leaking is 10 fold
sumps r a little harder and more expensive to setup, but worth it |
