After reading Ian’s article on cool water catfish in the current edition of Aquatica, I decided to do a temperature check on a 20g that’s on the windowsill. The current inhabitants are S. barbatus, baby Sawbwa resplendens (Asian rummynose), amano/mts/cherry shrimp and nerites. The temp is a chilly 58*. I was thinking of thinning out the plants – but I can wait

Thumbs up

Thats pretty cool ,and it was single digits on the other side! I've never had a heater in with my paleatus, they can go pretty cool also. Last august it was 80 degrees in my fishroom. The paleatus spawned after i threw a dozen ice cubes into their 10 gal. for a few nights.
