Default light

Fish can do with just room light
the tank light is just for your viewing pleasure.
Most fish 5-6 hours a day is fine
Plant or coral would need more, probably 10-12 hours

but thats another topic

fish no need any more than your ambient light but an extra light over the tank can help bring colors out.

For fish only tanks I highly recommend LED strips that give the tank awesome shimmering effect.

Anybody who does photography knows that you need light to see colors. You can feed the fish the best flakes one can find but without light you won't see any colors.

Don't believe me, take a look at your tank at night.

Actinics are great, but try ATI Blue + next time and you might be in for a surprise.

Red face Ati bulbs

Will theses light bulbs fit in a standard 4 foot light fixture ; if not are there any similar bulbs for the standard 4 foot fixture that would give the same effect as the ati bulbs 👻🎱👍

Default lights

They are t5 ho's we are talking about
They will only work in a t5 ho fixture
the ballast has to match on all flores fixtures
and ati are one of the best bulbs out there. There is a big difference
from one manufac to the next
no differance then salt mixes or declorinator, one is better then the other

bulbs can be measured with a lux meter or par meter. Which can actually show the differance
